I’ve been running Body & Mind workshops since 2013 as part of my Singing4Health work with singing groups. These sessions explore the powerful connection between body and mind — and how nurturing that connection supports better health, focus, and enjoyment of life.

Each workshop blends gentle movement, breathing, and relaxation techniques with simple, uplifting singing. You don’t need any musical experience: the emphasis is on feeling good, and performing in public is not mandatory.

I was Musical Director of Positive Voices, a choir for people living with HIV that later became the Bloomsbury Choir (The Bloomsbury Clinic, London). This unique project combined the joy of singing with the benefits of community, helping members build confidence and support wellbeing, and each other.

I have also worked delivering Body & Mind singing sessions for a wide range of organisations — from MIND in Kingston to MENCAP in Merton, for 240 Project, empowering ex-homeless people, in Lonon, and for Winchester City Council in their programme for Activities at the Wards with their residents — tailoring each session to the needs and abilities of participants. My sessions are inclusive, engaging, and grounded in the belief that creativity is an essential part of health.
